Healthcare Equity

Healthcare equity means “providing care that does not vary in quality because of personal characteristics such as gender, ethnicity, geographic location, and socioeconomic status.” In the United States, though healthcare has remarkably high quality care compared  to other countries, its availability is not ideal. It is unfortunately not uncommon to find yourself in debt as a result of medical bills. The debate is that while some people support free universal healthcare, those that are happy with their plans fear that the quality will be negatively affected if this were in place. While this issue can be extremely political, as teenagers we would like to look at the issue through a moral lens.
